Henley scaffolders
Henley’s centre is full of historic buildings, many of them listed, with shops at street level and busy pavements outside. For the redecoration of a corner building on the high street, we wrapped the front, corner and side in a netted scaffold up to the roofline, with the first lift above the shopfronts so the shops kept trading and people could walk underneath.
Our yard in Tidmarsh is a short drive away, through Reading and along the A4155, and Shiplake College, just south of the town, is among the clients we have carried out work for. We cover the whole town and the villages around it, from Harpsden, Rotherfield Greys and Binfield Heath to Shiplake, Wargrave and Remenham across the bridge, for homes, shops, schools and commercial buildings.

Ask a questionYes. Our Henley projects include a netted scaffold on a corner building on the high street for redecoration, with the shops below kept open, and Shiplake College is among the clients we have carried out work for.
In Henley itself it is Oxfordshire County Council, as the highway authority. Remenham and Wargrave, on the Berkshire side of the river, are in Wokingham Borough, so there the licence comes from Wokingham Borough Council. Only scaffolds on a pavement or road need one, and we will check at the survey if yours does.
Usually, yes. On Henley high street we set the first lift above the shopfronts, so entrances and windows stayed clear and people could walk along the pavement underneath, with high-visibility protection on the uprights along the kerb and netting on every lift above.
Many buildings in central Henley are listed or in the conservation area. Check with South Oxfordshire District Council’s planning team before any fixings go into the historic fabric, and we are happy to share the proposed tie arrangement with them in advance.
Yes. A temporary roof keeps a home or building dry while the roof is stripped, replaced or extended, and lets work carry on in wet weather. Each one is designed for the building and the loads it must take, including wind.
That depends on the job and our programme, but Henley is a short drive from our yard, so surveys and deliveries are simple to arrange. Tell us your start date and we will give you a realistic date for the scaffold.
