Roof and chimney access
Safe access right up to the ridge
Roof work needs more than a platform at eaves level. Roofers need edge protection, room for materials, and safe access to the ridge and chimney stacks. We scaffold roofs of every shape, from a single chimney stack on a terraced house to a full re-roof on a large period building, and design each scaffold around the pitch, the valleys and the stacks. Where the roof will be stripped, we can add a temporary roof so the building stays dry until the new one is on.
Edge protection
Guardrails and toe boards at the eaves to protect roofers and anyone below.
Chimney stacks
Access built around the stack for repairs, repointing, rebuilding or removal.
Temporary roofs
Weather protection for re-roofs, so the building stays dry while the roof is off.
Room for materials
Working platforms with space to stack tiles and materials at roof level.

Erect & hand over

FAQs
Roofing & chimney scaffolding questions
Straight answers to the things people ask before booking scaffolding. Anything else, just call 0800 2086 905 or 07831 197615.
Ask a questionCan you scaffold just a chimney stack?
Yes. We scaffold single chimney stacks as well as whole roofs, and will recommend the right arrangement for your property at the survey.
Do roofers need edge protection?
Yes. Anyone working near the edge of a roof must be protected from falling. On a pitched roof, that usually means scaffold edge protection at the eaves, with guardrails and toe boards.
Should I have a temporary roof for a re-roof?
If the roof will be stripped for more than a short spell, a temporary roof keeps the building dry and lets work carry on in bad weather. We can advise whether your job needs one.
Do you work for roofing contractors?
Yes. We work for homeowners and roofing contractors alike, and schedule the scaffold around the roofer’s start date.
Is the scaffold inspected during the hire?
Yes. Scaffolds must be inspected by a competent person before first use, after any alteration or event such as high winds, and at least every seven days. We carry out these checks through the hire and keep the records up to date.
