The project
A hotel going up in the town centre
This new hotel was built on a corner site in Guildford town centre, behind site hoardings on two busy streets. The scaffold had to rise with the building, giving the trades access as the frame went up, while keeping the pavements and roads around the site safe.
How it was scaffolded
We scaffolded the street elevations to above the rising frame, with debris netting to protect the pavements and roads below. At the rear, the scaffold runs around three sides of the courtyard, with lattice beams at first-floor level bridging the openings below, while a mobile crane lifted in the courtyard itself.
